Australia, “The Land Down Under” is the Home of Crocodile Dundee, Steve Irwin, koalas, kangaroos, and 20 million people who have yet to understand the importance of Jesus Christ.
In 2003 Australia experienced a severe drought that is only a shadow of the spiritual drought the country has faced for decades. Though this nation thirsts for water, they unknowingly thirst for the living water found only in Jesus. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says; “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land.” Are you willing to bring healing to a dry and barren land in desperate need of a Savior?
Since the Upper Midwest began a partnership with Griffith University in the city of Brisbane, God has slowly opened the floodgates and students at Griffith have begun to experience spiritual revival, a revival that could literally spread around the globe as students from un-reached countries in the Middle East, South East Asia, and Europe come to Griffith to study, eventually taking what they have learned home with them.
In 2016 we are transitioning our partnership from Brisbane to Perth. Located on the far west coast of Australia, Perth is considered by many the most remote capital city in the world. With a population of two million, and immigrants converging from Africa, Europe, and South Asia, Perth is a world city. The destination is truly at the ends of the earth and the need to reach these two million is large; yet the laborers are few. Join this Stint team and work alongside a handful of Aussies to reach Perth with the Gospel. No language barrier here, but your cultural senses will still experience the shock of a foreign land as you reach Aussies with the truth of Jesus Christ.
